I came across this great article on Gratitude and Well Being. Have you ever written down what you are grateful for? It makes you appreciate the things in your life. Try it now, write down five things you feel grateful for. I wrote down: my health, my husband, my business, my life, and my future. How do you feel after writing them down? I bet you feel pretty good! This is a great tool for when you are stressed, anxious, or in the pity pot, as my mentor would say. We are always striving to be better in our fast paced lives. It is so important to take a step back and enjoy how far you’ve come.
Another abstract that I found on PubMed says being present can also be tough but so important. Have you ever been in a situation you thought you would enjoy, but find yourself thinking/stressing about what you need to do, or what you didn’t have time to do? You are not being present and therefore not enjoying the moment. Or when you’re spending time with your family and you can’t stop thinking about a deadline?
Be present. Whatever you are thinking of, let it go. Just for the moment, so you don’t miss it!
Take a deep breathe and enjoy yourself. Clear your mind. Engage with the people around you. If you’re by yourself, enjoy the peace and quiet. Go for a walk or experiment with meditation. I challenge you to get the most out of every moment of every day.
Stop being so hard on yourself. You are amazing! You are exactly where you need to be. If you don’t like something in your life, then you have the power to change it. Focus on something you want, I guarantee you it will happen. Create the steps to get there. You can do anything your heart desires. It all starts in your mind. Be mindful.
